The Mic Pre came!!!!
I received a call from Eric, who is part of the the fabulous Michael Korb band (www.myspace.com/michaelkorb) that he had got in my universal audio LA 610 Mic Pre .

I will treat you so right.
I was super-excited that I probably did some kind of ridiculously Larry/Balky dance ala Perfect Strangers (remember that show?) So I went to Eric's place and picked it up, and brought it back home. When it was open, I was super dazzled by the sheer coolness of how it looked. There are all these beautiful round knobs and switches for the gain and the compression, it looked like some kind of equipment for space flight (more details on my dream of space flight later). Also, reading the manual to see who has used UA's older models Mic Pre(Eric Clapton, Brian Wilson) just inspired me more and made me feel confident that i made the right purchase.
Anyway, for all you musician tech heads out there, please go to the ua.com website:
http://www.uaudio.com/products/analog/LA-610/index.html
It gives you all the specs and whatnot that i still don't have a full 100% understanding of. But I will, for the sake of making decent music.
Now....all I need is my mic back from Greg Fine....he's been using my Blue mic for drum recordings whenever Casey comes over from New Jersey. Supposedly he will be recording with Owen Biddle, who is probably the most funniest person I know...I'm sure Casey gave Greg the Owen hookup, since Owen lives in philadelphia.
I'll let you know how things go with the mic pre. I'm sure I made a sound investment...let's see if that's true!
Truly,
